West Ham player dealt another injury blow

Maxwel Cornet is a player that many West Ham United fans would have been excited to watch play at the London Stadium when he arrived.

He arrived as a summer transfer from the relegated Burnley for a transfer fee thought to have been worth around £17.5 million. However, he, the club, and fans alike are yet to see a return on investment on this deal.

The 26-year-old started his career in east London brightly and looked to have an influential impact in the games that he did manage to play. But, he has had more time on the sidelines than minutes on the grass.

Cornet last appeared for the Irons back in early October in the match against Wolverhampton Wanderers; a game he had managed to help the team win 2-0 with his display.

However, for those that use sinlicencia.org to find the best and safest sites to use to wager on all things West Ham will have to wait a little longer before they can start involving the Ivory Coast international in their thoughts and selections.

The winger was only expected to miss a couple of weeks and was thought to be with a chance of heading to the 2022 FIFA World Cup, however in February 2023, he is still on the treatment table and a return looks further away than before.

Cornet has been dealt with another injury blow as he is rumoured to be suffering from a virus, just as he revealed that he was working hard to get back to fitness and make a return for the Hammers on his Instagram account.

However, Sean Whetstone – a journalist that is well-placed with all things regarding West Ham – has revealed that the Ivorian is enduring a virus at the moment.

West Ham could feel that they would be in a better position in the Premier League table if they were able to call upon Cornet.

David Moyes’ side have struggled for much of the season as they flounder near the bottom, and the Irons will be desperate not to fall into a relegation scrap as the remainder of the season unfolds.

If Cornet was in the team, it would certainly add some pace and attacking threat in the final third of the London Stadium pitch, with the African able to contribute with goals and assists.

Of course, many Hammers will feel as though he will be like a new signing as they have only seen him in limited action. Hopefully, once he does return, he can provide a spark and get bums off seats in the final part of the campaign and make relegation just something that the team flirted with and never really got drawn into.

Some West Ham fans, though, will feel that others will simply need to step up on the pitch and start contributing more, too. Nonetheless, the return of Cornet could end up being significant and one that makes as much of a difference as is required.
