Newcastle United were able to complete 46.4% of the crosses they attempted, whereas West Ham only completed 20% of their crosses.

Joe Willock generated the highest xG for Newcastle in the game, while centre-back, Craig Dawson, generated the highest xG for West Ham from his one shot on goal.

West Ham attempted 11 shots on goal and had three shots on target. They attempted nine shots from inside the penalty area and had an xG of only 0.08 per shot.

Newcastle had a total of 12 shots on goal, but they only had two shots on target. The visual indicates that most of their shots were off target.

The xG timeline indicates that Newcastle created three huge chances in the opening moments of the game. West Ham had a better xG in the second half but were unable to find the winner. Declan Rice attempted the most passes for West Ham, and he made 12 passes towards Cresswell. Rice also received most passes from his teammates.

Kurt Zouma made the most interceptions as he intercepted 12 passes and won back possession for his team.

West Ham had decent xT creation zones on both flanks, as seen in the above visual. Declan Rice was their most efficient passer as he completed 59 passes with an accuracy of 94.92%.

Rice also generated the highest xT from his passes, while Jarrod Bowen had a high xT from the dribbles he attempted inside the final third.

Newcastle had higher xT creation zones in the final third and were more threatening when they attacked from the left flank.

Ryan Fraser generated the highest xT from his passes for Newcastle, but a couple of their players failed to make the right pass when they were able to get into threatening positions in the final third.

West Ham won 16 of the 26 defensive duels they attempted in the middle third. Rice attempted eight duels, winning three of them.

Manchester City attempted most of their aerial duels in the defensive third. Soucek won five of the 14 aerial duels he competed for.

West Ham United won 32.1% of the 53 loose ball duels they contested for. It was Soucek again who won most loose ball duels for his team.

Newcastle United attempted 27 duels in the defensive third and won only 12 duels in these areas. Joelinton won three of his five duels.

Newcastle United had a better success rate in loose ball duels as they won 45.3% of their loose ball duels.

Jarrod Bowen and Aaron Cresswell attempted three corner kicks for West Ham, and they generated an xT of 0.55 from these corners.

Manchester City won seven corners in the game, and Matt Targett generated the highest xT from these situations. He attempted five corner kicks and had an xT of 0.49.
