West Ham United’s Opening Premier League Games of 2021/22

Following the release of the Premier League dates for 2021-22 earlier this week, West Ham United’s first two games have been rescheduled for TV broadcast.

David Moyes’ side will begin their domestic season with a trip to Newcastle United at St James’ Park, looking to improve on their remarkable sixth-place finish last season.

The match, which was originally scheduled to take place the day before, will now take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 15th, and will be broadcast live in the United Kingdom by Sky Sports.

This, and other EPL matches will be available for betting with Vwin sports, the top Asian bookmaker bringing you all the league and cup matches throughout the season.

The Premier League is hoping that the season’s opening weekend, COVID-19 restrictions will have been eased sufficiently to allow fans – even away fans – to attend games in stadiums with capacity attendance.

The Hammers’ first home game of the season has also been brought forward two days for television coverage.

West Ham will now host Leicester City at London Stadium on Monday, August 23 at 8 p.m., with the match being broadcast live on Sky Sports.

With the kick-off schedules for the first three rounds of Premier League matches already set, further broadcast selections for September are likely in the following weeks. All Premier League matches are subject to change, so fans should keep that in mind.

In addition, the Hammers will begin their Carabao Cup campaign in the third round on Monday, September 20th, while the Emirates FA Cup third round will take place on Saturday, January 8th, 2022. On Thursday, September 16th, UEFA Europa League campaign will commence.

Hammer’s Three First Key Fixtures

Newcastle vs West Ham United (Sat, August 14)

West Ham United’s season-opening match coincides with the club’s longest journey of the season, as David Moyes’ side travels over 300 miles to the north-east to begin the new season.

The match is also a rematch of last season’s opening game, when Newcastle won 2-0 at London Stadium on the first day of the season. The Hammers will have plenty of motivation to get the season off to the best possible start after the Magpies won the reverse game in April.

West Ham United vs Leicester City (Sat, August 2)

West Ham’s opening home game of the season will be against a team against whom the Hammers put in two of their best performances last season.

Leicester City may have ended a solitary point and position ahead of the Hammers in the 2020/21 Premier League season, but the Hammers showed attacking vigour in 3-0 (away) and 3-2 (home) triumphs over them last season, and will be looking to overhaul the Foxes this time around.

West Ham United vs Tottenham (Sat, October 23)

Declan Rice and co will have until the end of the third month of the season to perfect their next release, as Tottenham Hotspur – the game that every West Ham supporter is looking forward to – visit east London on Saturday, October 23.

Hammers supporters will never forget their 2-1 victory over Spurs in February, when Michail Antonio and Jesse Lingard scored at the start of each half before a strong defensive display put Jose Mourinho’s side at bay.
